Ease fuel cost concerns with cheaper LPG autogas

A recent survey carried out by British Car Auctions found that the cost of fuel remains the number one concern for 70 per cent of UK motorists, ahead of car tax, insurance, maintenance and parking costs.

The price of petrol and diesel has eased slightly over the last couple of months but the general trend in recent years has been ever upwards, and hard-pressed families are still feeling the pinch when it comes to running their cars.

Converting the family car to run on cheaper LPG autogas is one way that drivers can cut their running costs. With LPG autogas pump prices around 40 per cent cheaper than unleaded, it’s possible to make big savings on fuel bills. The cost of the conversion itself can be quickly recouped, leaving owners to enjoy significantly cheaper motoring in the longer term.

There’s no need to worry that the price of LPG autogas is about to soar, either. In the 2013 Autumn Statement, the Chancellor introduced a 10-year commitment for LPG road fuel duty, which is good news for motorists who can now go ahead and convert with confidence, knowing that autogas will still be considerably cheaper than both petrol and diesel come 2024.

LPG autogas also offers a strong nationwide network of refuelling sites, with more than 1,400 pumps across the UK, meaning you’re never far from being able to fill up.

A further bonus is that, as a cleaner-burning fuel, LPG autogas emits fewer potentially harmful tailpipe emissions than either petrol or diesel, so by using it not only are you saving money, you could be helping to improve air quality, too.
